Today in Europe, one in four young people aged 15–29 is at risk of poverty and social exclusion, highlighting significant inequalities in access to education, employment, and active participation. This situation is particularly critical in rural and marginalized contexts: in Slovakia, one in three young people in rural areas is at risk of exclusion, with Roma communities among the most affected; in Cyprus, youth face challenges related to migration and refugee issues; in Greece, youth unemployment exceeds 25% in some regions; while in Southern Italy it reaches 30–40%. These conditions weaken young people’s confidence in their future and limit their opportunities. In response to these challenges, the Move4Change project aims to strengthen the capacities of youth workers through outdoor-based educational methodologies that combine entrepreneurship and life skills. The overarching goal is to promote social inclusion and celebrate diversity by providing young people and youth workers with practical tools to develop key competencies, a sense of belonging, and active participation.
Specific Objectives:
SO1: Strengthen Youth Workers’ Capacities
Provide youth workers and organizations with innovative outdoor methodologies that integrate entrepreneurial competences (EntreComp) and personal and social skills (LifeComp).
SO2: Empower Young People through Outdoor Entrepreneurship Labs
Engage young people, particularly those at risk of exclusion (NEETs, migrants, Roma, rural youth), in experiential activities that foster entrepreneurial mindsets, inclusion, and personal development.
SO3: Raise Awareness and Foster Community Engagement
Promote inclusive outdoor learning and youth entrepreneurship among a wide range of stakeholders (over 1,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries), strengthening support at local and European levels.
Expected Results:
Enhancing Youth Workers’ Skills
More than 80 youth workers will gain practical experience using outdoor methodologies integrated with entrepreneurship and life skills, through the development of the Move4Change Training Package, international workshops, and piloting activities (Outdoor Inspiration Labs).
Developing Young People’s Competencies
Over 80 young people will improve key skills such as creativity, teamwork, resilience, initiative, and problem-solving through activities like Social Enterprise Co-Labs, Outdoor Challenges, and national hackathons.
Increasing Awareness and Local Impact
Through dissemination events and peer learning circles, the project will raise awareness among NGOs, educators, and policymakers, strengthening community support for initiatives that link outdoor education, entrepreneurship, and youth inclusion.
